This Hour Has 22 Minutes is a weekly Canadian television comedy that airs on CBC Television. Launched in 1993 during Canada's 35th general election, the show focuses on Canadian politics, combining news parody, sketch comedy and satirical editorials. Originally featuring Cathy Jones, Rick Mercer, Greg Thomey and Mary Walsh, the series featured satirical sketches of the weekly news and Canadian political events. Jones and Walsh had previously worked together on the sketch comedy series CODCO, on which Thomey sometimes appeared as a guest. The series transports the scene to Istanbul where both Murat and Hasret, the two main characters, live. Murat is thirty years old and a successful musician and music educator who was born and raised in Istanbul. He comes from a long line of respected, rich and noble people. The female protagonist Hasret - on the other hand - was born and raised in one of Istanbul's most impoverished neighborhoods. She is a free spirited young woman with a 'foul' mouth. Hasret makes her living by selling flowers and occasionally singing in a band. Murat hears potential in her untrained voice and takes it upon himself to teach her the secrets of music by giving her a classical training.

Space Command was a Canadian children's science fiction television adventure series broadcast on CBC (Canadian Broadcast Company) Television in 1953 and 1954. It was the first time the network (CBC) aired its own dramatic series. The series presented life on the fictional space ship XSW1 operated by Space Command, an international organization working to explore and colonize space. Each episode featured the activities of Frank Anderson covering many subject areas such as sunspots, asteroids, space medicine, meteors and evolution. Although short-lived, Space Command proved to be a hit dramatic program for CBC's earliest years. The series aired weekly from 13 March 1953 – 29 May 1954 Unfortunately, only a single episode from November 1953 is know to exist at this time.
